Kdrama Review: Private Lives

Private Lives is a 2020 crime and romance kdrama starring Seohyun (Girl's Generation), Go Kyung-pyo (Chicago Typewriter), Kim Hyo-jin, and Kim Young-min (The World of the Married). To be honest, I never imagine these casts in one kdrama and I guess it's one of the best thing that happened this year.

REVIEW

You should watch this so you will know what happened at the wedding. 'Cause to be honest, I did not anticipate that at all. Haha! It looked so perfect. Haha! And it's actually the start. I thought this is just another romance kdrama. But there's more to it. Seohyun looks really pretty in white!

The casts of this kdrama is perfect from the lead couple to the supporting actors and actresses. They fit perfectly with the characters and they did a good job portraying it.

Even though the title Private Lives goes well with the plot, I feel like it's not the best title for it. It's just my opinion though! I feel like it's not that appealing and it is almost the same to Her Private Life.

To be honest, I watched this because of Seohyun. I love Girl's Generation. Hihi! But no regrets, the casts did justice! I am also so proud of her. Our maknae can act and she's so good at it. She's a natural! This kdrama is a proof! She's a fashion icon too. 😍

I love Seohyun and Go Kyung-pyo's chemistry. They look so perfect together! I ship! Their scenes didn't feel awkward. I'm glad that Seohyun was able to work with him because I know he's a great actor. They didn't disappoint. I love how the writer was still able to focus and relate on their love story along with the crime related side stories.

I did not expect Kim Young-min here. It's his third kdrama for this year and I've watched it all. He's such a versatile actor and he's hardworking! Haha. This is my first time to watch Kim Hyo-jin and I'm pretty impressed with her acting. This two is the biggest plot twist ng taon (of this year)! I swear! 🙊

The story is interesting and the first five episodes made me hooked on this drama. However, it got a little boring and confusing in the middle. Just like the usual kdramas. The bomb part is the last two parts where every questions was answered and there are many revelations too! Haha. Di ko masyado kinakaya lalo ka na Kim Young-min! May pasabog ka na naman. 😂

I just wished they also gave more scenes for Tae Won-seok (Joo-eun's mentor) and Lee Hak-joo (the police officer). I think they deserve the spotlight too. Haha! Lee Hak-joo and Seohyun have chemistry too! He can actually be a second lead but there's none actually.

Overall, it's still a good kdrama and I think it's worth watching especially that it has a unique story. 2020 has made great kdramas so far! 👏 I was able to watch this on Netflix btw.

Have you watched this kdrama? Which one do you want me to review next?

P.S. I do not own any photos. I got them on google/twitter/pinterest. Credits to the owners.
