Life Lately: Where Have I Been?

February 26, 2017

This is my first Life Lately post on this blog. Nothing much happened to me but, of course, I want to share with you what happened to me for the past few days. I am still unemployed and the review for this year board examination will start in a few months. To be honest, I still don't know if I will take that examination or I will just look for a job and start over again. It bothers me for quite some time now and I still can't decide. If you haven't read it on my blog, I failed the board examination for Radiologic Technologists twice already and I don't know if I can still do it. I got traumatized with my failures, well sort of. But on the second thought, the board examination is just once a year. Should I give it a last shot? I am really having a hard time with my life lately and I think I am having a life crisis at the moment. Adult life is not easy, especially in making life decisions. #adulting

I am also having doubts on my blogging. I don't know if I would still continue it and if my posts still makes sense. My self esteem is at the lowest now, I think. Someone said that I am "trying-hard" and I think it affected me for some reasons. But to be honest, with that "insult", I am trying really hard for me to get better in taking photos and writing on this blog. I know I still need to learn a lot of things. I am not that active lately since I am dealing with my emotions and telling myself that I can do this. This is my hobby, no one can stop me.

The photos above are actually from my instagram account. Most of the photos were taken at Bag of Beans, Twin Lakes. It was our first time to dine there and the food was really good, especially their Blueberry Cheesecake. Good food & service, instagram friendly place plus the view! It was definitely a nice place to dine. We actually went there to unwind since Joseph and I are both having a hard time with our life. I am blessed I have him with me. I will forever grateful to God that he has given me a partner who supports me and loves me for who I am.

I stopped hoarding makeup products because I want to save money for my travel. That's also one reason why I want to work. You know it, to make money for travel. Hahaha. Although I stopped buying makeup stuffs, I am more into skin care lately. I had a major break out last month and I just want to get rid of the scars. That's also one reason why I don't play with my makeup lately. I am pissed with my pimple scars. I hope I bought the right products for my skin. Also, my PCOS isn't cured yet. I still need to take my medications again. And booom, I gained more weight. I hate it, but I have no choice. I also need to exercise and watch my food intake. :(

I got productive in watching Korean dramas. Since I have a lot of time, I watched few Korean dramas this month and they are:

  • Goblin - I love this kdrama so much! The plot is really good and the casts are just perfect for each character. I like the Grim Reaper more than Goblin though. :p I just hope they'll have a season two.
  • Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - The plot is just the usual school love story where everyone can relate to.. but the characters makes it better. Di mawala yung kilig ko habang piinapanuod ko 'to. Haha! The main casts are so good together. Talk about relationship goals and friendship goals!
  • Who Are You: School 2015-  I didn't expect the twists of this kdrama. It's really good especially if Kim So-Hyun is the female lead. I like the second lead, Gong Tae-Kwang, for her though! Thank you to my fellow blogger, Renee of The Random Bibliophile, for recommending this kdrama. ;)
  • Legend of The Blue Sea - I admit, I am a fan of Lee Min Ho and I wouldn't miss watching this. To be honest, I cried at the ending because I will miss this kdrama. The casts are also perfect for their roles.
  • Let's Fight Ghost - Starred by Kim So-Hyun and Ok Taec-yeon. To be honest, I already expected the twist of this kdrama but I still like it. The main casts look good together.
  • Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo - The reason why I stopped being productive in watchinng kdramas. Sorry if I blame this kdrama, but the ending is just heartbreaking and I cried a lot. I just.. can't move on!
With all my problems and stress, I just pray to God that he leads me to right path. I know he has plans for me and I have faith in Him. For me, I just need to gain my motivation back.. and also my old self. Fighting!

P.S. Any kdrama recommendation and anything blog post ideas? Haha! :) And please, do like my page on Facebook. Thank you so much!

#NeverFail: L'Oreal Infallible Long Wear Makeup

February 11, 2017

First of all, I would like to thank Rhea Bue again for this products. I won her giveaway last December 2016 and I am so happy that they are now complete. Follow her on instagram @iamthedoll and check out her blog rheabue.comThank you so much, Love!❤

And of course, I would love to do a review about these products for you. Please note that I have a fair complexion and a combination skin (oily on the the nose and area circling the mouth especially on the upper lip and the rest is dry). Some products may or may not work on me, but it doesn't mean that it will be the same for everyone. It is still a case to case basis since we all have different skin type and complexion.

L'Oreal Infallible 24H Liquid Foundation

This product has SPF 18. As seen on the product description, it is enriched with hydrating hyaluron and extreme hold pigments for optimum comfort. It claims to have no transfer, no visible imperfections, no visible shine, no dryout, no mask-effect. I did a little research on the web about hyaluron and I found out that it "secures moisture and creates fullness—youthful skin naturally abounds with hyaluronic acid" (organicbeautyandskin.com).

I got mine in 120 VANILLA and it just matches my skin. It also has a yellow undertone which is a good thing. It has a light to medium coverage but it is very buildable. The consistency of this foundation is much heavier than the True Match foundation. It is not super light weight on the face. By the way, this has a very minimal scent but to me it is not bothering at all. It comes on a glass bottle and has a pump. This liquid foundation works better on me with Nichido Final Powder in Creamy Glow. The finish of this foundation is semi-matte, maybe because of the moisturizing effect. Does it really last long? Yes, this liquid foundation can really last long on my combination skin even if I sweat a lot.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 16H Powder

Product description:
  • Never cakey, never flat
  • Shine-control
  • Matte finish
  • Wears up to 16 hours
  • Oil-free
  • Air-fine texture
I got mine in the shade 500 Sun Beige. This powder has a very fine texture. It also has a scent but I can't tell what it is. It is just very minimal though. When I first used this together with the liquid foundation, it got a little cakey on me and this shade is dark on my skin.

Just like other powder, it comes with a mirror and a sponge. I really like the packaging of this product. It is very sleek and handy plus the black and red colors. I like that this product comes in a sponge and not a powderpuff. Also, I can't really use this with the foundation since the shade that 500 Sun Beige is darker than the foundation that I got which is 120 Vanilla and on my skin as well.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set

This product claims to give long lasting finish and extends just-applied makeup look. As seen on the product description, it has micro-fine texture and it used for post-makeup. For the instructions, shake it well before using. Hold 8" to 10" away from the face with eyes closed. Spray 4 to 6 times in an X & T motion. Avoid spraying in eyes.

To be honest, I don't like the smell of this product. I am not sure if a setting spray should really have a scent like this but the smell is really strong and unpleasant. This is actually my first setting spray so I have no idea on the scent. When I used this product, it gave me a  little droplets on the face but it dries quickly.

L'Oreal Infallible 10H Lipstick

This lipstick has satin/semi-matte finish. I have a separate review and lip swatches for this products. You can check it out on my previous post or CLICK HERE.

Final Verdict

I used the L'oreal Infallible 24hr liquid foundation for this look with the Nichido Final Powder that is why it doesn't look cakey. The pimple marks on my face were covered quite well. For my lips, I used the L'oreal Infallible 10hr lipstick in Refined Ruby. I love that the foundation made my skin look fresh.

Out of all the L'oreal Infallible products that I have, I like the 24H liquid foundation the most. Next is the 10H lipstick. I can't really tell if I like the 16H powder since it is really dark for my skin and the setting spray since I don't like the scent of it.

Here are the prices of each product:
L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Foundation - 700.00 pesos
L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte 16HR Powder - 600.00 pesos
L'Oreal Paris Infallible 10H Lipstick - 500.00 pesos
L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray and Set Makeup Extender and Setting Spray - 500.00 pesos

#NeverFail: L'Oreal Infallible 10HR Lipstick

February 04, 2017

L'Oreal Infallible was one of L'Oreal Paris' new makeup products that was released last 2016. It includes a 24 hr long wear liquid foundation, 10hr long wear lipstick, 16hr long wear powder and the infallible setting spray. But for now, this post will be all about their 10hr long wear lipstick. I got these products from Rhea Bue's giveaway last Christmas. Thank you so much, Love! And of course, I would also like to thank L'Oreal PH! ;)

This Infallible 10hr Long Wear Lipstick claims to be:
  • Fade-proof
  • Food-proof
  • Dry-proof

The packaging is very sleek. The base is black while the color of the cap corresponds to the shade of the lipstick. The cap made it easier to distinguish the shades of each lipstick. On the other hand, the specific shade is on the bottom part of the lipstick tube.

There is something written on the cap but it is too small and I think it is not even readable. I can't even tell what is written on it. The manufacturer and manufacturing date is indicated on the other side which is also good. It is readable.

They have a total of 20 shades. You can view all the swatches at BeautyMNL. The photo below are my swatches of the five shades that I have. My favorite shades are the Everlasting Plum and Resilient Raisin.

From Top to Bottom:
Resilient Raisin
Bold Bordeaux
Everlasting Plum
Persistent Plum
Refined Ruby

What I like about L'oreal lipsticks is that they are very creamy and super pigmented especially this Infallible lipstick. It glides on the lips very smoothly. It also has a creamy scent to it. Resilient Raisin, Persistent Plum and Bold Bordeaux are good for everyday look especially to my working girls out there. While Everlasting Plum and Refined Ruby are great for a night out or events. This is not a matte lipstick, by the way. It has a satin/demi-matte finish.

Here are the lip swatches that I made. I hope you won't mind the pimples around my lips.

Resilient Raisin is more on a dark brown shade. Bold Bordeaux and Persistent Plum are on a plum/berries shade. It's just Persistent Plum is more on the red tone. Refined Ruby is on a perfect red shade. Lastly, Everlasting Plum is on the magenta shade.

I used Everlasting Plum when Ii went out for an errand. It stayed on my lips without any fading for hours. Though I think that this lipstick can really last long depending on the food that you eat and maybe the shade that you are wearing. It actually stains on the lips and has minimal transfer when drinking. The fact that it stayed on my lips and no fading for hours (without eating) is already impressive to me. To  make this lipstick really transfer-proof and matte, use a tissue to damp it a bit on your lips.

Final Verdict: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

(5/5) I still like this lipstick because it is affordable, very creamy, very pigmented, and it is easy to apply. It only costs 400.00 pesos. You can avail this product on L'Oreal counters at SM department stores and Watson's. You can also avail it online at BeautyMNL, Lazada and Zalora. This lipstick can really last long through out the day and all the shades are superb!

I will also be doing a review for the rest of the L'Oreal Infallible products. Next is their 24hr long wear liquid foundation and 16hr long wear powder, so you better watch out for that. ;)

Have you tried any L'Oreal Infallible products? What are your thoughts about it? Please do share and comment down below. I would like to hear it from you.
