How Do I Maintain My Skin Soft and Radiant?

These are the skin care products that I am currently using. Most of the products that I've been loving are Korean products and the affordable ones. I blame myself for watching too much kdrama. I got curious about their products. They are so flawless! So, I bought some products from Tony Moly and The Face Shop. Am I the only one who finds Korean products addicting? Tell me I'm not the only one! Haha!

Before I use these products, I experienced breakout (a LOT of acne) and I don't know if Maybelline Satin Skin caused it. It is the one I used before I had a breakout. I got so frustrated about it and I just used makeup to cover it especially the scars. I am so thankful I found these products especially St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Jeju Aloe. Most of the scars disappeared in just a few weeks and my skin looks great and healthy now.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub (Exfoliate)

There are rumors/issues/articles circulating online about this product. They say that consumers should stop buying and using this because it has walnut particles that can cause micro-tearing. I don't know how true is that but I this product is really good on my skin. This product claims to prevent blemishes and minimize pores. It for deep exfoliation. I can also remember that my Mom love using this. I stopped using Asian Secrets anti-acne soap and switched to this one instead. It is way effective than other products that I've tried. I use it three to four times a week depending on my acne situation. My pimples heal in just two to three days with this product. I won't recommend this to you since we all have different skin type and you might believe on the issues. Do your research if you want. Use at your own risk.

Tony Moly Clean Dew Blueberry Foam Cleanser (Cleanse)

I've been using this for more than two weeks now and just like with the Tony Moly face masks, it was love at first use. I can really tell the effect right after I used it. My skin got really soft, smooth and bright. This is the first foam cleanser that I have tried. I use this alternatively with St. Ives. This product smells really good and is gentle on the skin.

Jeju Aloe by The Face Shop (Moisturize)

I've been using this for more than a month now. This product claims to soothe and moisturize skin. I saw this being raved in a beauty group on Facebook. They say that the one in the Nature Republic is the best one, but I got mine from The Face Shop since it the one available near me. If you're a reader since Wordpress days or a follower of me on Instagram, you know how I love the iWhite Aqua Moisturizer but things have changed. I stopped using it and switched to this one. This product is a life changer. Haha! This product is a must for me because I use it after washing my face with St. Ives. If you exfoliate your face, you need a good moisturizer for your skin not to dry. I use this every day.

Face Masks

To be honest, I just bought two from Tony Moly and I can say it was love at first use! (Is that even possible? Haha!) I had tried different face masks from Watsons and I didn't like it. I feel like it did nothing well on my skin. This one is different, maybe because it is a legit Korean brand. The price of this is twice compared to the face masks on Watsons but it is so worth it. After the application, my skin looks brighter, softer and smoother. It also feels really good on the skin. I read some articles on the internet and it says that face masks should be used at least twice a week. I will try to be consistent with that.

Edit: I also tried face masks from The Face Shop recently and I can say it is also good. It's just I find the Tony Moly masks better. Nevertheless, still good to use and it is cheaper and much easy to find. Most of their face masks cost 65.00 pesos. I am trying to be consistent with this. Sobrang sarap sa feeling after you use face masks. Haha!

Asian Secrets Lulur Body Scrub

I've been using this since last year. I posted a review of this product from my old blog. I use it twice or thrice a month. I am not consistent with it because I am either lazy or always in a hurry to use it. Haha. But this does the job really well.

It is a beauty treatment which originated from the royal palaces of Java, Indonesia and inspired by a ritual a ritual called Lulur. Lulur was originally intended for the bride-to-be in order beautify, smoothen, and whiten her skin before the wedding day.
  • Lulur beads gently exfoliate and remove dead skin cells to smoothen and give it a radiant glow.
  • Frequent usage reduces skin pigmentation and even out skin tone by getting rid of dark patches especially on elbows and knees.
  • Contains green tea and Vitamin E to help protect the skin.
  • It also moisturizes and leaves skin with light fragrant scent.
  • Scrub all over your skin especially on dark areas while it is dry to remove impurities, dead skin and dirt. Rinse with water.

For my soap, I am currently using Bench Organics Coffee and Honey Soap but I am not liking this product. I only got curious since I didn't know Bench launched many skin care products. I wanted to try it and after using it for more than a week now, I think it doesn't do anything good on my skin. I think I'll go back with Dove which is my favorite of all time. I use it since I was in high school.

By the way, I found an interesting product for eyelash growth and it will be my next beauty haul.

Anyway, I've heard about that aloe product and now I'm curious to try it. However, I'm still using the St. Ives moisturizer and kalahati pa lang nagagamit ko. Haha. But I'll try to buy one and use it alternately siguro. Hehe

    2. Hehe no worries, Elaine! Btw, about the aloe vera, I've been seeing different brands pero same lang ng packaging. The Nature Republic one ang gusto ko sana i-try. There's this Mumuso brand or something and now this one on your post from The Face Shop. Now I'm confused alin ang bibilhin ko. HAHA

    3. Try the Nature Republic? Yun next ko ita-try after ko maubos yung sa The Face Shop para macompare. Haha. Mas madami ata ang gumagamit ng sa Nature Republic at madalas daw soldout. Mas mahal nga lang sya kesa sa The Face Shop ng konti. Almost the same lang naman ata silang lahat, brand lang naiba. :) Yung sa The Face Shop medyo ubusan ngayon kasi may promo sila na 1+1 (Buy one take one). :)

    1. Buy na! Hihi. Mas maganda mag invest para sa skin para kahit no makeup, keri pa din. Haha. Not sure on St. Ives body srubs tho. If ever mapunta ulit ako sa mall, try ko tumingin ng iba pang products ng St. Ives. :)

  6. I love Asian Secrets! I've been using it for years, but I stopped using it because I was too lazy. Hahaha. But I recently bought one, so I hope I'll be consistent. Hahaha. Just a question though, I use an exfoliating face wash 3x a week, can I also use Asian Secrets on my face at the same time? Or it's bad for the skin?

I'm really bad at this skin care routine. I typically use a soap, exfoliating face wash, toner, peel off mask and soothing mask. I have an oily face.

    1. I only use Asian Secrets on my body while I use St. Ives for my face. I am not sure if it will be bad for your skin if you use it at the same time... But for me, I think it's better if you only use your exfoliating face wash. Just to be sure. Or you may use them alternately? :)

These are the current products that I use. I am still in search for the right toner for me though. I've tried some products but it didn't match my skin type. I have combination skin.

  7. I'm also using St. Ives apricot scrub as my facial scrub and yes, I read the issues about it as well. I'm not really sure if that's legit or not but like you, I continued using the product. So far, okay naman effect nya sakin. Some said, nagbreakout daw sila and some naman, lumaki ang pores. Scary pero we all have different skin types so it's up to us to use it or not.

I read you were using the aqua moisturizer before. That's the product I'm currently using and I'm planning to buy the aloe vera gel from Nature Republic after I finish the tube.

I LOVE ASIAN SECRETS! I bought mine last year but I was only able to use it last Feb before I went on a beach trip. I needed to be extra para maging okay naman ang skin ko and it did a good job.
