Best Beauty Products I Used in 2018

If you're a long time reader of this blog, you probably already know that I suck at my blog series especially my monthly favorites. It was in January when I started but I wasn't able to continue it. Haha! I am so sorry! And as my solution, I have decided to make a post that summarizes my thoughts on my favorite and least favorite beauty products of 2018. I know, it may be a bit late since it's already January 2019, but better late than never! *wink*

SKINCARE

Most skincare products that I have used are from Korean brands. I am now picky about the products that I use on my face because I have sensitive/acne prone skin. My skin reacts so easily. I know some of the products that I will be mentioning are pricey but for me, they are worth the money.

Klairs Supple Unscented Preparation Toner - This has been my holy grail toner ever since I started using it and it is also the first product that I used from Dear, Klairs. It was the unscented one. It may be pricey but as I have said on my review, this is so worth it. I am almost done with my first bottle and I already purchased the original one so I could really know the difference. They say it only differ in scent but let's see! :)

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence - I've tried four sunblocks last year but this is my favorite and by far the best one for my skin type. This doesn't have any scent. It is also not sticky and feels lightweight when applied. But like the other Klairs products, it is indeed pricey, for a sunblock. For my full review, click here.

Skinfood Black Sugar Mask - I was disappointed when I read an article that Skinfood will be closing down for good. I mean, I just started to use this in late 2018 and now what? Huhu! I really love this sugar mask! I love how my skin feels really smooth and clean after using this product. I use it twice a week, alternate with the Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask - I've been wanting to try this for a long time. I included it on my Althea Haul and no regrets! I love how this clay mask is so gentle on the skin. My skin feels baby smooth after use and I did not breakout using it. It is a great alternative to the Aztec Indian Healing Clay Mask if you have sensitive skin like me.

Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater - I was hesitant to buy this at first because it was a bit pricey for a facial spray but I read a lot of good reviews about it. I bought it at Rustan's, Alabang Town Center. I always bring a facial spray with me when I have a long commute or if I will be out for a few days. It really freshens me up and with this product, my skin also feels so smooth.

Ra & Gowoori Real Kill Horse Oil Cream - I made a review of this last year. If you haven't seen it, click here. That post explains why I included this in my Best of 2018. It took me months to get rid of my acne scars. It may not happen in an instant but it really does help in lightening pimple marks. Patience!

Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm (Original) - I included it on my Althea Haul. I've heard a lot of good reviews about it and I can finally say it myself that yes, it is definitely good. Most long lasting makeups are really hard to remove especially the mascara and liquid lipstick. You'll be needing a cleansing balm or any oil-based makeup remover. The only downside of this product is the price.

Garnier Micellar Water - To be honest, I don't religously do my skincare at night. Haha! There are days that I am too lazy or I am too tired to do it. At those times, I just use a micellar water to cleanse my face. I have tried a few micellar water from the previous years but the Garnier one is my favorite. I use the blue one since I am acne prone.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - My lips are always dry and pale. I bought the mini one from an online seller for 150 pesos. I thought it was in 'regular' size but it super tiny! Haha! It is in the same size as the Vaseline Lip Therapy. I love how my lips feel smooth the next day. No cracking and no peeling. It makes my lips a lil pinkish too.

Althea Primer Water (Bare Essentials) - I know the Klairs Supple Preparation Toner is really pricey and I think the Althea Primer Water can be an alternative for that. It is half the price and is alcohol-free.

MAKEUP

More skincare, less makeup. That's what happened to me in 2018. Haha! I wanted to treat my skin first but I was still able to try a few new makeup items and most of them are from Colourpop. Haha! I actually have more but was not able to use them. Maybe this year! ;)

Colourpop No Filter Foundation - I know many people have mixed reviews on this product. It is Jeffree Star approved but Tati didn't like it, mainly because of our preferences. For me, I like this one because it has medium to full coverage but you can still wear this quite often. This is my most used foundation ever since I had it. They also got a wide shade range.

Colourpop No Filter Concealer - I bought this together with the foundation and palette. And this has also become my favorite concealer in an instant. It is very creamy and the coverage is the bomb. It doesn't crease when I use it underneath my eyes. It has more coverage than the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

Colourpop Yes Please Palette - I've only used quite a few eyeshadow palettes. Unlike most of them, this palette is the least powdery. It is pigmented and easy to blend. It is a mix of matte and shimmer shades.

Colourpop Disney Collection (Belle Collection) - I used a lot of Colourpop products in 2018. I know! Hahaha! They released the Disney Collection and of course, I had to buy one! This includes a Super Shock Shadow, a Lux lipstick and an Ultra Glossy Lip.

Mac Prep and Prime Fix+ - It's really a good thing they have a travel size for this one. Haha! The regular one is pricey and I just wanted to try it first. I love how it makes my makeup stay long enough and it also makes my foundation look like second skin.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick (Celebrity Skin) - They recently launched it here in the Philippines and Freyja is the distributor. I've been eyeing this liquid lipstick for a while now. I bought it last Black Friday Sale. They were 50% off.  From 1,300.00 pesos down to 650.00 pesos. What a steal! My regret? Only buying one! Haha! This is so good! It is pigmented and the color payoff is good. It is a liquid lipstick but it is not heavy on the lips. I originally wanted to try Calabasas but it wasn't available at that time.

Merzy The First Velvet Tint (Firenze Negroni) - I made a review with complete swatches on this last month. If you haven't read it, click here. This is my current go-to lip product. I always bring it with me. What I like most about this product is the longevity. It can say up to 5 to 6 hours. I had a hard time making my review because it really doesn't come off even with the Clean It Zero. Haha! It has no bitter taste and very pigmented.

Sunniesface Fluffmate (Major) - One of the most raved beauty product in 2018! I was able to buy this during their launch. I bought it at Lazada and I was amazed that they were able to deliver it the next day. I also have Girl Crush but reds are my thing and I didn't expect it to be 'too' coral. I have Major in the original packaging and Girl Crush in the

Skinpotions Dream Cream (Stella) - Skinpotions is a local brand here in the Philippines. One of the products that they are known for is the Dream Cream. I bought mine for only 249.00 pesos at SM City Dasmarinas. It can be used on the lips, eyes, and cheek but I like it best when applied on the cheeks as blush. Don't be deceived with the color because the color is different when applied on the cheeks and on the lips. A little dot on the cheeks goes a long way! It is very pigmented so be careful!

My original plan was to make a 'Best and Worst' but I'll just mention two products that didn't work on me. This is purely based on experience. No hate!

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay & Madeca Cream - These two products were hyped in 2018, I know. I tried both products and both didn't work well on me. Maybe their formula or ingredients are too much for my sensitive skin. They caused me nothing but breakouts. I have a full review of the Madeca Cream, click here. I didn't expect my post to be this long but there you go! I hope this post helps you in any way. What products do you want me to try? Should I do more skincare and makeup reviews? :)
