Pig Republic, Fora Mall Tagaytay

Tagaytay may have lots of restaurants and cafes to try these days but not all of them are budget friendly, right? So I was so happy to discover Pig Republic located at Fora Mall.

They are known for their Baby Back Ribs because they are formerly known as Lady Christine's Baby Back Ribs. They just rebranded last June.

I was surprised to see that the place is spacious enough though it may look small on the photos. The wooden tables and chairs plus the white wall give a relaxing ambiance. They told me that they may still improve the place along with the rebranding.

I love the travel decorations though! Hehe.

The location is a bit struggle though. The mall is not yet full and they are at the back side of the mall near the park. Not all people know that Fora Mall has a back side but there are residents (like me! hehe) pass by here from Ayala Mall Serin or from the church. The back side of the mall is really nice especially during sunset and at night.

Prawn and Mango Salad (149 pesos)
I am not really a fan of salads but this one is an exemption. I can eat a the whole bowl of this. It has a sauce (probably vinegar) which makes it a bit of sour and spicy and the mangoes makes it sweet which makes it perfect and not nakakaumay. Plus the prawns!

Caesar Salad (99 pesos)

Cream of Mushroom Soup (89 pesos)

Krispy Pork Strips
The owner will revise their menu and they will add the Krispy Pork Strips soon. I am impressed at how it is still crunchy even it is not hot anymore or at room temperature.

Simple Pasta
This is one of their best seller and now I know why. It is made from fresh tomatoes but it doesn't taste sour. It is not like our sweet Filipino style pasta but I liked it and it has a good serving size.

They also have group meals!

Sisig Meal

I believe that this is from their sulit meals and it is not bad. I liked their sisig!

Tender Beef Ribs (279 pesos)

Tender Baby Back Ribs (229 pesos)

I tried both of it and I also liked it especially the Tender Beef Ribs. It's just my preference since I like beef more. Hehe! The beef is tender naman and both are savory. I also like that it is sauce-y.

Mango Mania (99 pesos)
Looks can be deceiving 'cause it may look very sweet on the photo but surprisingly, it is not. I also prefer it that way so the flavor the mango is still there and the sweetness is not too overpowering. They used vanilla ice cream here I think.

Hot Fudge Cake (149 pesos)
I super love this one. Haha! I really love desserts! The chocolate cake is served hot and you'll pair it with the vanilla ice cream. What a perfect combination! The cake is not too sweet btw.

Good food shared with friends! If you are looking for a budget friendly restaurant here in Tagaytay, I would definitely recommend PIG REPUBLIC. They have lots to offer aside from their Baby Back Ribs. My top favorites are the Hot Fudge Cake, Simple Pasta, Prawn and Mango Salad, Sisig and the Krispy Pork Strips.

P.S. The owner messaged me to review their restuarant but my review is always honest.
