Wine Night and Fancy Date at GiraSol Tagaytay
Heading to Tagaytay this holiday season? Why not have a wine night and a fancy dinner date in Tagaytay for a change? You can do that at GiraSol, the only restaurant in Tagaytay that offers a dining experience at a wine cellar. They also have bed & breakfast.
LOCATION
Garden Hills, Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Alfonso, Cavite (Just a few minutes away from Tagaytay and Twin Lakes)
OPENING HOURS
Daily (Monday to Sunday) from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
This is just 20-30 minutes (without traffic) from Tagaytay Rotonda. It's actually already in Alfonso though. The climate is the same! It's 5-10 minutes away from Twin Lakes.
We were not able to see their rooms because they were all occupied at that time.
THE GREAT ROOM
The Great Room is their restaurant area and it's actually spacious.
I appreciate the natural lighting in this area. It makes the ambiance light yet classic & chich because of the chairs and tables.
THE MEZZANINE
THE CELLAR
The Cellar is their area in the basement which can also be for small events and private meetings. The ambiance is different from The Great Room and The Mezzanine, of course.
This is where they store their wines and other liquors which you can also order. But I think it is sold per bottle.
THE FOOD
They serve Filipino-Continental cuisine and they have a lot of dishes that you can try on their menu.
Tomato Bruschetta and Cheesy Beef Crispy Wanton Cups
Blue Cheese & Chicken Risotto
I'm not sure if I have tried Risotto in my whole entire life but it's actually good and I like it.
Wild Truffle Pasta and Lemon Scampi Pasta
As much as I like white sauce, I prefer their Lemon Scampi probably because of the seafood. And it's really good!
Braised Bulalo Steak
The meat is so tender and savory! It's perfect for a wine night. This dish is unique. They thought of a twist to Bulalo since Tagaytay is known for it.
Quattro Formaggi Pizza
Pizzas are also a great food to pair with wine. They also have it and their pizzas are hand-tossed.
Mixed Berries Pavlova, Cheesecake, and Ube Leche Flan
Ube Leche Flan is a staple for most Filipino restaurants but they used quality ingredients here. I love the Mixed Berries Pavlova and the Cheesecake. I really appreciate them for making their own signature dishes.
VERDICT
Having dinner at a wine cellar in Tagaytay is really a great experience and something I would recommend. It's pricey here but you get the great ambiance and food for a wine night. For me, it's worth it. The serving is not as big as the usual restaurants. But considering that this is almost like fine dining, it's justifiable. The service is also great as their staff is friendly, alert, and accommodating.
