Taal Batangas Staycation | MGM Ranch and Farm

Summer is here! If you are looking for a staycation in Taal, Batangas, I have a recommendation for you! We recently stayed at MGM Ranch and Farm Resort and there are so many things I want to share! 

MGM RANCH AND FARM

📍 Mahabang Lodlod, Taal, Batangas

It is located 12 minutes away from Taal Town Proper and just a few minutes away from gasoline stations, other restaurants, nearby pharmacies, and groceries. 

There are just a few reminders from them:

• No generator, no heater (hot bath), no wifi, and tv.
• They are pet-friendly but pets are not allowed to swim in the pool and they must have diapers at all times.

BONIFACIO HOUSE

MGM Ranch and Farm Resort have been a filming location for some local films here in the Philippines like The Killer Bride and the recent famous television series Maria Clara at Ibarra.

Bonifacio House

Aside from the Bonifacio House, you can also stay at their barn cabin. They have for small and big groups. We stayed here and this is more modern. 

Yellow Barn Cabin

• Good for 6 pax
• 8,500 pesos
• 1 bedroom, 2 queen size beds, 2 twin mattresses, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen sink, 1 dining area, with ac
• With complimentary breakfast

Red Barn Cabin

• Good for 2 pax
• 3,500 pesos
• 1 queen size bed, 1 bathroom, no kitchen, no kawa, with ac
• With complimentary breakfast

Hideaway B&B

• Good for 2 pax
• 4,000 pesos
• 1 queen size bed, 1 bathroom, with ac
• With kawa bath (one-time use only)
• With complimentary breakfast

Daldalita

• Good for 5 pax
• 7,000 pesos
• 1 bedroom, 1 queen size bed, extra twin mattresses, with ac
• 1 bathroom at the silong of the villa
• With complimentary breakfast

** Kids are counted on the number of guests.

LOFT BARN CABIN

We stayed at their Loft Barn Cabin. Their barn cabins are modern and rustic.

• 3 queen-size mattresses, 1 pull-out bed (2 twin size). 1 twin mattress, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen sink, 1 dining area, with ac

This is what it looks like inside and this is the first floor. It has a queen size bed and a bunk bed which can.

It actually exceeded my expectation because the outside is like probinsya vibes and yet the house/room's theme is modern and rustic. It's so cozy! 

There is one bathroom on the first floor. It is very neat and well-maintained. 

The shower doesn't have a heater though.

They provided towels and there's shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.

Here are a few details of the interiors which I really appreciate.

AMENITIES

SWIMMING POOL

They have a swimming pool here. There's no additional fee for this amenity. Pets are not allowed to swim in the pool. 

BONFIRE

This is what I enjoyed the most during our stay here!

We did it later than scheduled because we still had our dinner at their cafe. They have dogs here btw and they are friendly. Can you imagine yourself relaxing with the bonfire and with these doggos around you while your friends jam on opm songs? Yep, that's what happened! 

You can still appreciate this area during sunset and sunrise. This place is just relaxing at any time of the day.

CAFE / RESTAURANT

It's a good thing they have a cafe/restaurant inside the area. We just ordered our dinner here so we won't go out again. It's near their receiving area/front desk and it's a few minutes walk from the cabin.

They serve Filipino food and it's mostly for solo orders. The food is okay and parang lutong bahay. We had fun eating, drinking, and jamming here. 

VERDICT

It's really a nice place to stay if you want to disconnect from the city or world for a while. It is indeed relaxing. Just what we needed! We really had a great time during our stay. Since it's a ranch and farm, there are quite a lot of activities you can do here. I love the Loft Barn Cabin where we stayed because it's cozy. Plus points that they are pet-friendly! I also saw on their posts that they can also accommodate events. 

Of course, you can do your lil photoshoots here! You can also feed and interact with the farm animals like this horse.

Here are just a few reminders:

• Don't forget to use and bring your sunblock. The weather in Batangas can really be really warm. 
• Don't forget to bring your mosquito repellant. Please expect this already as the place is a ranch and farm. It's also better to be safe.
• If you're planning to work while you are here, there is limited access to data in some areas for both Globe and Smart networks.
