I was supposed to go to Boracay last year but it was suddenly closed by the government for renovation, so my family and I went to Gigantes Islands instead. And finally, I got to experience Boracay (NEW Boracay) for the first time this year.  P.S. This blog post will be more of a travel story.

On our fourth day in Davao del Sur, we spend our morning packing because we moved to Waterfront Insular Hotel. It is 15 to 20 minutes away from our first hotel, the El Bajada Hotel. We decided to check in to another hotel just for experience and leisure. Haha!

Location

Address: Lanang, Davao City, 8000 Davao del Sur

It is just a few minutes away from the airport. The hotel itself is actually a few meters away from the main road or hotel gate. If you're going to commute, it will be a few minutes walk. But the guard at the hotel lobby can call for a taxi for you if you're going to take one. They offer free mall transfers to SM Lanang Premier and Abreeza Ayala Mall with daily schedule.

Deluxe Room

This is the comfiest bed I've ever laid on! Haha. The room interiors looks classic with the wooden details.

This is the comfort room and they have bath tub!

Breakfast Buffet

Our reservation includes breakfast buffet. There are a lot of foods to choose from!

But these really caught my attention. I love pancakes, waffles and french toast! Hehe.

Facilities

Conference Facilities
Outdoor Pool and Jacuzzi
Massage Center
Medical Clinic

It rained when we checked-in but we still dipped quick in the pool. The next day, the sun is up again! By the way, they have restaurants, cafe and bar inside the hotel premises.

Here's the overlooking view of Samal Island from the hotel.

Thoughts

Waterfront Insular Davao is a four star hotel. It is not cheap but if you have extra money for accommodation, I'd definitely recommend them. We only stayed here for two days and a one night but we had a good experience. Well, what do we expect from a four star hotel? Hehe.

Sometimes traveling means spending a lot of money to others. Well, that's what I also thought when I was still not into traveling. When we went to Iloilo and Capiz last year, I learned that you can actually limit yourself and be wise in spending your money. So when we went to Davao, I tried to budget my money as much as I could. Haha! I went there with my Youth For Christ Tagaytay family. We booked our flight last November for only 2,300 pesos, roundtrip, at Clark International Airport.
